They are typically made from oak, but other woods like chestnut or acacia can be used. WWW on episode 204, 3/15/2024</li><li>Head: The top and bottom circular pieces of the barrel that enclose the staves.</li><li>Bilge: The curved section where the staves meet at the bottom of the barrel.</li><li>Hoop: The metal bands that hold the staves together.
